Did you know that Grogan's Mill Village was the first village of
The Woodlands? The land that had been in timber production since
the late 1800's yielded to a new community's progress and opened
with a celebratory flag raising on October 19, 1974 and guest appearance
by William Shatner. The Village is named after the Grogan family
who helped establish the Grogan lumber mill.
As of December, 2004 the population of The Woodlands was 77,128.
The fourth largest village in The Woodlands is Grogan's Mill Village
with 5,100 homes.
There are 10,310 adults and 2,282 children for a total of 12,592.
Adding apartment complexes Grogan's Landing, Village Square, Parkside
I, II, and III, Timber Mill and Eden Brook another 820 people are
included for a grand total of 13,412 living in Grogan's Mill.
